We're proud to announce another exciting project award for our MEP Building Services division. This week marks the start of our on-site works at St Margaret’s Hall in Aspley, Nottingham, where we are working in partnership with Singleton & Smart as the main contractor.

Mech-Elec Building Services team begins on-site MEP installation at St Margaret’s Hall in Aspley, Nottingham, working with Singleton & Smart on the full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrade.

The project involves the upgrade and refurbishment of this important local facility, supporting its continued role at the heart of the Aspley community. Mech-Elec Building Services has been appointed to deliver the full Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) package — providing a fully integrated solution designed to meet modern performance, energy efficiency, and compliance standards.

Our Scope of Works

We will be delivering a complete MEP installation, including:

  • Mechanical Ventilation Systems – designed to improve indoor air quality and occupant comfort, ensuring fresh air circulation throughout the building.

  • VRF and Air Conditioning Systems – offering flexible zoning and efficient climate control, with smart control integration for precise temperature management and optimised energy use.

  • Electrical Infrastructure – including new mains distribution boards, containment systems, and small power to support all operational and user requirements.

  • LED Lighting and Emergency Lighting – a full upgrade to modern, energy-efficient LED systems with compliant emergency lighting for safety and peace of mind.

  • Fire Alarm, Security and Access Control Systems – installed to the latest standards, safeguarding the building and providing a secure environment for staff and visitors.

  • Plumbing Installations – including sanitaryware, mains cold water (MCW), and domestic hot water (DHW) systems designed for reliability and ease of maintenance.

  • Electric Centrally Controlled Heating – delivering responsive, efficient heating with the benefit of reduced maintenance and improved controllability.

A Collaborative Approach

From initial design coordination through to installation and commissioning, our team will be working closely with Singleton & Smart and the wider design team to ensure all systems integrate seamlessly. Our multi-disciplinary capability allows us to manage the complete MEP package under one roof — streamlining delivery, improving quality control, and reducing interface risks between trades.

As part of our approach, we focus on early engagement, clear communication, and technical precision throughout every phase. This ensures the finished building not only meets performance expectations but exceeds them, delivering long-term operational efficiency for the client and end users.

Sustainable and Efficient Engineering

At Mech-Elec, sustainability is central to our design philosophy. Every aspect of the MEP package at St Margaret’s Hall has been developed with energy efficiency and lifecycle performance in mind. By combining LED lighting, efficient heating and cooling, and intelligent control systems, the building will benefit from lower operational costs and a reduced carbon footprint — aligning with both local and national sustainability goals.
